Increased demands for efficiency, transparency, accountability participation, collaboration and new models of partnership are driven by a "network" economy and require you to create knowledge you can act on...now.
...the frenzy of expectations and deliverables outstrip the capacity of even the most extraordinary education leader. Under any circumstances these challenges cannot be faced effectively alone, or even with a great team, and certainly not within the economic constraints that often accompany the demands...
(Woolis, Restler, Thayer 2007)
KPI has the skills, methods and technology to help you not only gain knowledge but organize and assess it and maximize its benefit to you. KPI's trained and experienced staff provide the support crucial to optimal web-based collaboration. We use Polilogue, our customized online community platform for the core of our work and an array of complementary tools, as called for. We will introduce you to all of these and work with you to develop your capacity to utilize web-based knowledge services independently.
In virtual Communities of Practice (CoP), knowledge is contributed as well as distributed, created as well as reported. Knowledge stewardship, requires holding the space at the intersection of organizational change, learning, and knowledge. Good community stewardship helps professionals to do their work and as they do to derive the greatest benefit of working in this medium and organizational form. When this is done well, the organization, at the same time, benefits with improved performance, outcomes, and insight.
(Kaulback and Bergholdt 2007)
The hallmark of our work is Knowledge Organization, Analysis and Codification. We help you maximize the value of the knowledge that is generated by your web-based work. KPI facilitators ensure that your organization's knowledge -- amassed online as discussions, web links, media clips, documents and more -- is organized and accessible based on the way your project participants work and think. We call this knowledge stewardship.
Deliverables
You will want a tangible artifact of your work--online, offline or both. You tell us how you would like your work to be documented--notes, briefs or summaries, whitepapers, articles or research reports, blog entries or a wiki, a management report with recommendations, or the text for a grant proposal. You name it, and we will do it. You may also want to keep your Polilogue open to access the knowledge generated, continue work, or grow a community or a network. Any combination can be accommodated.
